so what devises are out there for retrieving snagged lures and which is the best?,ive got a light tackle back(need a heavier one) and one of those sticks with a spring on the end both work sometimes

The extender lure pole is the go when casting lures in the estuary snags!

heavy tackle back. if there is any wind, it's difficult to use the poles (unless you have an electric) as long as you get the tackle back on the line,a heavy one, it will get down quick.if you drift off the snag keep your line tight. if it dosn't bump the lure off nine out of ten times it will hook up to the lure or snag. you should then be able to pull it off......mick

Heavy SNAHU type, with Stainless Chain.
I find it important to use braided nylon cord, often hooks foul in cord.

Bought mine at Tackle Store at Greenhills, still has them on the hook!
You won't find them painted with nailpolish like this one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Mal Adjusted!!!

The first time I used a tackle back - I broke it's cord line and lost it and the lure (dolls eye boomer). I have the heavy and the light one now - gotta go the heavy one.

I have 3 lure retreivers in my boat ,the one l use the most is a heavy D shackle on a rope , knocks them off the snags most times

you can get them in a tube with lead inside with chains  they are heavy ill see if I can find mine and take a picture of it they work great

It's 270g, I'm fishing less than 5M.
Hardest way to use is from the bank, the angle can work against ya!
Hasn't failed me yet, though twice my line has broken and lure floated to the top.

Chris, saw those cord retrievers advertised, was thinking of getting 2, one for the lures and one with a small anchor on for my yak.
