Hi guys -
I was thinking that I would like to add a couple/few Australian made timber lures to my collection. My budget is limited, but I can afford a couple lures and shipping. I have no real specific makers in mind, I'm just looking for some nice basic examples. Maybe a scorpion of some kind or a boomerang, or ??? Anyway, if you have something you are looking to sell and are willing to ship, PM me ! I pay by PayPal, and have stellar feedback on EBay (user name : "Rocket*Surgeon") btw ...so it'll be an easy transaction. Thanks so much - Andy |

Hi Andy, I have a couple of suggestions for you for those lures which are certainly a couple of the best examples of iconic Australian lures. The Scorpion, originally made by Peter Newell now can be found in a number of examples. A couple I would suggest that keep it very similar to the originals are Gidgee "Stinger" and the Scorpions Made by Powell Lures. The Boomerang lure was made by Kevin Clarke and whilst the originals are rare and valuable Kevin still makes lures under the KC name which you can still get the Boomerang style from him. If you would like to grab one from Kevin let me know and I will find out what he has at the moment and I am sure we can work out how to get you one. I will be going past his house I expect tomorrow so let me know before hand if you can.

G'day Mate, I have a couple of different Allan Sloman's timber lures at my shop, one of the shapes is based on an early Boomerang, drop me a PM if you want a pic, cheers Paul.

Hi there Alistair !!!
Great looking lures there ! Those are definitely right along the lines i'd like ...and I know Travers is a member here, so I'd love to get a lure of his. I would definitely be interested in seeing how much one of the KC lures might cost as well, and would totally appreciate it if you could check on that ! Thank you ! Andy |

Depending on what you want his lures generally go between $20/25 for fishing lures up to $100 for collectable limited signed ones. Will advise what he has.

Hi Andy I'm just 'lying low' at the moment, trying to finish a heap of back orders. I will start carving new lures soon, but it could be a month or so before they are finished. Cheers Travers
