I am having trouble picking timber lures from plastic ones and although this one is stamped it feels like a timber to my untrained eye. I come to this conclusion from the way the bib is attached, the feel/weight of the lure and the fact that it doesn't rattle. Is there anything else that can distinguish the two? I paid 3 bucks for it.
Cheers Scotty

General rule is,,,if its timber the name wont be moulded into it. BUT moulded lures can have handwritten names....
The Lively range is made from moulded poly foam, not plastic as such, like the 2 piece hollow ABS lures are eg Halco. The foam is generally a pale yellow to mid brown in colour and can sometimes be mistaken for wood. Heat up a pin and try inserting it near the bum eye. Plastic and poly foam will form a rim around the hole and give off black soot. |
