I don't know how to express my feelings right now as I just found out the news by telephone from a lurelover.
While I am very sad as it will leave a huge hole in the fishing fraternity in Australia, I count myself lucky enough to have spent some time with Vic, thanks to Barry, recently in Cardwell.
A man greatly admired, who will be missed by the fishing fraternity and may he Rest In Peace as part of Hinchinbrook.

RIP Vic

Respectfully Bill Jackson

Very sorry to hear this news, I know Barry will be especially upset as he was close. I'll contact Bruce Moller with the news on my return home, however, he's presently in Vietnam. Bruces' dad Westy, is a resident of the same nursing home as Vic.
Tony.

So very sorry I did not get to say goodby Vic.

One of the greatest highlights of my life was when you rocked into Cooktown
in late 85 and spent a week camped in my shed, we had to make room on one of the
bench's amongst all the lure making stuff so you could boil your billy LOL.
We went fishing for Barra's Jacks and JP's to some of my special places and you loved
every minute. I didn't get much work done that week cause we spent most of the time
talking lures and lure making, you had so much knowledge even back then it was awesome,
you loved the big deep diver Herring I was working on and helped me perfect it, which in
turn inspired me to do better, you did well with it around Hinchinbrook on Fingermark and Barra's.

Thank you for allowing me to know you Vic and like Barry I was humbled in your presence,
may your soul enjoy the rest of eternity around your beloved Hinchinbrook.

Very sad news, we've lost a great champion. Condolences
to the family and many friends, especially to you Barry.
I'm fishing at Forster today, catching a few bream on hardbodies
and marvelling that Vic had the bream on lures thing sussed out
years before the rest of us. Then again, he always was the pathfinder.
Tight lines Vic, rest in peace.
Regards,
PMcC

I've had a very reflective day and been distracted by thoughts of events today and tomorrow in Cardwell, wish I could be there. Cheers Vic and thanks for your contribution to things piscatorial.

The spreading of Vics Ashes was done this morning.
All went very well.
Vics Ashes are now wandering around No.8 creek in Missionany Bay.
The weather just overnight turned to a SE wind which was perfect.
The tide was high which allowed us to get the 45ft sportfisher right to the place where Vic asked his ashes be scattered.
Dolphins appeared just behind the boat whilst this was being carried out and a Water Spout could be seen just to the north.
Many vessels turned up to pay their respects.
Even a couple on a jet ski was there.
A sad but wonderful day with an amazing backdrop.
No doubt some pics will surface for all to see.
The Journey is the Reward

That's nice that it all came together for Vic and his friends.
