Wow John that article is one of the articles that started me off and into lure making, I read it at high school then tuned up at school with some old table spoons and cut them in half and drilled holes in em for hooks etc. I actually found one of them during my recent shed cleanup. John, looks like Vic developed Blade style lures 50yrs. ago. I hope the old fella is OK tonight, that bloody Yasi is heading his way to Cardwell.

Tony Seaweed, article infers Vic was copying the Heddon Sonar in a larger size. Sonars were introduced by Heddon in 1959.

Do you think they were the first major company to produce Sonar type lures commercially .
 
My 1960 catalogue may have been when they were released on the world stage for the first time.
