Had a visit last year from a local tournament angler asking me if I could breathe life back into his old Leads lures and a couple of Koolabungs. Was a bit of a challenge but he was happy with the end result. I got a carton of Boags for my trouble but I regret taking a picture of the end result. Here's what they looked like when I got them. Shocked

Have a look a the sticker under the bib Chris , Held up like a trooper we might as well paint lure's with sticker's like that in color

Thay have seen a bit of battle. Got to admire their character.

Cheers Rick

I'm sorry to say that the first lure he got me to paint was an original Moller! Shocked He had painted it himself when he was a kid and stuffed it up. It lay in his shed for 25 years, the bib was gone and the front towpoint had rusted away! Got some paint off to find original colour, took photos and had a crack. Used archaeival photos to help, made new bib and towpoint and tried to re-create Erics style. He was happy with the result and wants to catch a Barra on it to get a couple of scuff marks then retire the "Beast"

While I was doing the restoration, I made a couple for myself with poly bibs. They have a nice action and run at a medium depth.

Had a visit from my mate last night with a gift in hand. A nice old Leads; haven't seen that colour before with a Maroon head? Confused

Got a couple more old beat up Leads last week. The big one is 22cms and was my favourite in the 80's for Yellowfin Tuna and big Spaniards.
Can't wait for next winter and give them a go... Tongue

Thanks Simon, I did the stripes with a NIKKO pen but wasn't real happy with them so I only made those two and gifted them to a mate in Cairns. If I do any more, I'll make up a stencil for the stripes.
