That's is a hard one Bob as it is hard to separate the dams considering the species found in them. It is hard to past Monduran in QLD for Barra just for the sheer amount of timber to throw lures at. For Bass then Borumbah is such a pretty little dam with the added excitement of a Saratoga or Mary River cod but Clarrie Hall beats it on just sheer beauty with Mount Warning looming overhead in the early morning fog fringed by Lillypads and old tree's.
For Cod & yella's, I like Glenlyon for sure but Pindari wins out as it tends to be less fished with less people. It is not a family friendly dam with little facilities and bugger all swimming area or bankside spots for skiers. (and I hope they never improve the campsite to keep it that way) . Quite a decent sized dam with deep sides and can be fished with a wide range of methods. When 100% full it has the added bonus of gorge country up the top that can be walked for some memorable fishing.

??????? I don't have a fav dam to fish. I don't really fish dams - I mainly use some local dams for redclaw. If I lived near some of the dams further north then I could name one of those for barra. Sorry I have seen too many dams go to pot due over fishing. Clarrie Hall Dam used to be my absolute fav for the huge numbers of large bass it used to hold.

For me it would be Mulwala for cod, Copeton For its xos sized yellas and cod,Glenbawn bass,St Clair for bass and lake Macdonald near Cooroy for toga and bass,Somerset for big yellas and bass.Casting to the edges with spinnerbaits or hard bodies is great fun but ABT fishing has developed a new love of jigging ice-jigs and soft curl tail grubs on extremely light leaders for bass. Cannot wait to fish the barra dams further up north but wish to fish the dam near Kyogle for bass and a strong urge to fish Glenlyon Dam only to prove my baits will catch the greenies hand over fist and then maybe close a few disbelieving mouths!
best regards B.J"s.Custom Baits. |

Favorite Dam is Jindabyne - still looking for the daily quadrella down there, Rainbow, Brown, Atlantic Salmon and Brook trout in a day .... a trifecta is relatively easy, the quadrella is very hard
Heading back down for 8 days fishing Sept/Oct - can't wait, even though it's a 15+hr drive from up here Cheers Rob |

My favourite bass dam was Moogerah until it had the fishkill. My favourite barra dam was Callide until it had the fishkill.
Pindari seems really nice because of the scenery & the creek.
Favourite now would be Dyer because it has a mix of bass & yellas that bite at the same time so you don't know what the next fish will be. Also like it because its small & doesn't get a lot of traffic.

Peter Faust for me "Lake Proserpine", love the back drop and obviously the big Barras and Soots. Was lucky enough to win the Faust Invertational there in 2013 so that makes it a bit more special for me.
