These lures are 20 yo and made from red cedar and white beech, however they were only painted / restored a few weeks ago.

Question now is:

Who made them?

Who painted them?

Some people may be not agree by restoring these old lures, and I will admit I was in two minds whether to take the leap. What made the decision easier was that these had very rusty bibs, very flaking paint (which scrapped off quite easily), original paint had been touched up very poorly and so on. So their condition was quite poor (compared to the rest of my collection). Some were worse than others. One needs a whole new bib...but having some trouble getting the broken bib out.

I love George's lures and I am totally appreciative of the very talented lure maker who painted these for me. They all look fantastic and are now considered to be a hybrid. These are the only ones of their kind and I rate them very highly in my collection of timbers. I love the red one the best!

Here are some pics of the early stages of restoration:

Quite surprised to see an alloy bib on this old girl

So, made by George, painted by.............?
cheers steiny

I havn't a clue but love lures with the metal bib like that.

I should head down a road of using metal bibs they give a lure more character.

(Only in my opinion) Ouch

Thanks for putting the pics of the resto up.

Not Ron Gallo, not Ian Salmon, not Richard Lee, not Jim Mac!

This guy has been making lures since the 70's and is my 'favourite' lure maker who is still making lures.

Yeah Mick....I am very happy with how they turned out mate.

Although the eyes don't seem right, I will hazard a guess of Terry Leadbetter.
