For those of you that use swimbait hooks for swimbaits, frogs, worms or other soft plastics, here is a cheaper alternative than buying expensive packaged hooks with springs attached.

I use the same floral wire as mentioned in previous posts.
1.To make the coil, wind the wire only three or four times around a nail.
2.Attach to hook and twist coil into the soft plastic lure's nose.

I buy hooks in a fifty pack which comes out to be far cheaper than buy a set of 4 for $3.

Rigged on my hand poured lures:

The coil can also be used to weight a plastic worm Neko style:

And to make a tail spinner:

Great tip Frank Clap
It's a shame that Senko style worms haven't taken off downunder, I have quite a few different ones from Yamamoto, Next One and even some Bass Assassin styles, and have caught the odd Aust Bass and Golden Perch on them using different techniques.

I have been using the same rig on Jacks and Barra for about a year. Excellent in snags. I got some springs from USA, cheap as.
One on fake is better than ten on bait!!
