Originally these yabbies were crafted using willow but due to difficulties in manufacture this changed to plastic. Problems associated with tuning the plastics models eventually resulted in their manufacture being stopped altogether. All up a total of approximately 500 of these yabbies were made, with the vast majority being plastic. Over the years two versions of the plastic ones were produced while the most popular/successful colour was khaki.
As well, I'm fortunate to have a larger one-off timber yabby that was made in the 1990's. It's approximately 140mm in length(including the bib) and contains a rattle made using a 22 calibre shell. According to Peter it's design was based on the Stump Jumper lures.
Regards,
Col

Never seen the big size before, I do have one of the small ones. I can attest to how incredibly wonderful they are. Great lures thanks for showing them.

Looking at Cols picture the only difference I can see is the timber one has feelers the plastic one has none?
